Eligibility Criteria for PMJAY for Rural Areas :

Candidates whose income is on daily basis and financial BPL category they are eligible for applying.
Applicant must be landless or has one house with kucha walls not cemented house can also apply.
For SC / ST Category candidates, they can also apply under the scheme
In family their is no male adult available due to some circumstances between the age 16 to 59 years.
Disabled people can also apply under minimum 40 % disability.
Families whose family income is very low are applicable.

Eligibility Criteria for PMJAY for Urban Areas :

In urban areas the applicant for applying can be beggar, ragpicker or domestic worker.
Applicants can be street vendors, cobblers or he/ she can be any worker who works on the street.
from an urban area, applicants can be Mason, Labour, Hawker, Painter, Plumber, Welder, Construction worker, Coolie, Security Guard, and other workers who work on a daily basis.
Applicants can be in sanitation department, Sweeper, Worker or a gardener.
They should be Driver, conductor, Transport Worker or helper during transport or cart puller or auto driver or rikshaw man
For applying they can be Mechanic, Electrician, Repair Men, Assembler, Washerman, Waiter, Home-based worker, Handicraft Worker, Tailor or a Chowkidar.
All those whose income is coming under the government criteria can apply under the scheme for getting benefits.
